Scant

February 16, 2005 By Glenn Turner

Hey, will you look at that? GAME ON is coming to Chicago (Gamasutra, free registration required)! Yes, it's coming over from London to my little ol' city. You can bet I'm all over that like white on rice.

Also, I found the following IGDA event: a panel on Chicago gaming [developer] veterans on March 22nd. With any luck I'll get in on some of that action too.

If I've seemed rather quiet lately, it's because my internet connection went down on Sunday and my provider (Comcast) apparently doesn't seem too interested in getting it back up any time soon. In fact, the time range I was quoted was 7-10 days. The last time this happened it took two weeks to get a line technician out but, at least then we had limited connectivity. Right now we have nada. If anyone knows of any cable internet providers in Chicago other than RCN or Comcast, please pass along the info because I'm rather desperate to get out of this off-line sitation. On the plus side, Screenz in Chicago is a rather nice place.

That's pretty slick. I hope it comes out to the west coast at some point... you know... where a lot of those games were made.

The net situation sucks, it sounds like it might be faster to move to another state than to have your connection restored.

Hah, I bet you are just saying that because Mongo, some 8-foot-4 bruiser and store manager, is breathing down your neck.

How do you know Mongo?

Anyway Pec, I might hit that IGDA event, sounds cool.
