This weekend, I finally completed Tim Schafer's motorcyclist tribute Full Throttle and, while sitting through what must be the longest closing credit crawl in video game history, I noticed the following:

I thought to myself 'that's kind of neat, paying homage to the cats in the employees' lives. If I worked on a game I'd like to see my cats represented in the closing credits.' But then the following inched up on the screen:

What?? Mr. Schafer doesn't endorse cat ownership?! This came to quite a shock to me as he's very clearly a cat owner now. Perhaps the eleven grueling years that have passed since the release of Full Throttle have convinced him that cat ownership increases your quality of life. Or maybe he just doesn't believe in the concept of 'owning' cats and instead subscribes to the idea of cat co-habitation?

Perhaps the world will never know, but every time I choose to endure Full Throttle's credit sequence for its hippity-hoppity end, I will always wonder just what caused him to publicly disavow cat ownership.
