Gummy Mario, or, I'll Buy Anything

July 31, 2006 By Glenn Turner

While visiting a ice cream shoppe with the missus last night, I found a miniature Game Boy Advance, stuffed with gummies. Proving the old adage 'A fool and his money are soon parted' I handed over a dollar and brought it home.

In theory, once empty, I could store two GBA games in this. However, if I did that they'd soon become greasy GBA games.

Mouthwatering!

Even though the bag was sealed, it was covered in a slimy residue that promptly made me regret opening the package.

Five Nintendo characters, five flavors. Who tastes like 'slammin' strawberry orange'??

It's-a me, Gummy Mario!

And here's tilty green Diddy Kong.

A terribly unstable, yet quite articulated, Link.

And Yoshi & Donkey Kong unfortunately found themselves fused together. Oh cruel, delicious fate.

Now I need to find someone who will actually want to consume these gelatinous figurines.

I'm surprised you opened it. Could have made quite the collectible, assuming they aren't selling them at every corner store in the universe.

Either way, I'll eat them for a buck.

shoot, I'll eat the entire package for free.

I like the large text that explains that the gumm characters are presented in 3D... as though either 1) we aren't used to seeing gummi's in this amazing THIRD DIMENTION or 2) we aren't used to seeing Nintendo charcters that have mastered the incredible power of DEPTH!

Wheres the warning that says that the GBA doesn't function as a portable console??

I'd much rather have classic NES sprites stamped out on a 2D fruit roll-up. Hrm... Someone do that.

Gee frickin whiz, that's a find and a half. When I read the top, I half expected someone just jammed the gummies inside of a hollowed out GBA case. Happy that wasn't the case, but still surprised that I've never seen this somewhere before.

You all fail massively. I've eaten those gummies, not too bad but I've had much worse.

I don't know when's the last time I've seen them, but since I live near so many BFE towns, I'm sure to run into a store selling a box or two.

Probably not very rare.

For only a buck, I totally would have bought it too.

I also have to agree with Mr. LeFeuvre on the fruit roll up. I loved those things and lived on them growing up. That, and fruit by the foot
