Allegedly Rare 'Uncensored' Silent Hill 1 Version Up for Auction

June 1, 2006 By Glenn Turner

I remember reading some time ago about the so-called changes that were made to Silent Hill between its appearance at an early E3 show, most notably the excising of 'devil children' who populated the town. Well, if this eBay auction is to be believed, a playable copy has reared its head.

If I recall correctly, the preview builds for the game caught a lot of flak in the U.S. for those child-like creatures, but I can't find a link to back that up. Either way, if this is the real deal, I hope someone at least posts screens or video footage of what was excised!

The demon children were only excised from the PAL version, a lot of European games demand the removal of all children. All our versions of the game are stocked to the brim with evil babies, in the PAL they replace them with the teddies from later in the game.

Nothing super huge. Nothing you couldn't get for $12 in a used store, anyway.

Oh thank God. I've been an ebay Machine as of late and was ready to hunker down and land that sucker.
