RAD

Well. Despite finally receiving Resident Evil 4 I'm still rather bored gamewise. This typically happens every six months or so, where nothing I have really catches my interest. I was hoping that RE4 would grab me, but alas I just don't feel like continuing on with it. That hour I played wasn't too shabby though.

So, feeling horribly listless I finally gave Robot Alchemic Drive (R.A.D. - get it??) a spin, despite having purchased it around September. Controlling a giant mech via an RC that vaguely resembles my DualShock to take down an alien-ish mech, while accidently destroying buildings was good campy fun. Even the (intentionally) laughable cut-scenes, narration and dialogue wasn't a turn off. Although, the oddest part was perhaps the fact that the difficulty level is based on which control scheme you want to use. Easy mode has a less precise, easier to learn scheme whereas the Normal mode has a more precise, harder to control scheme. Not feeling up for bumbling around Tokyo more than necessary, I didn't bother with the 'normal' mode, but it's an interesting design choice. Try imagining the same idea applied to other genres!
