Pipeline

January 17, 2005 By Glenn Turner

I just went to go check my mailbox to see if Resident Evil 4 had arrived yet from Gamefly (sigh ... when will they get a Midwest distribution hub?) when I realized 'duh, it's a holiday.' Why didn't I just buy Resident Evil 4? Oh, I know - I do not feel terribly confident that the control scheme won't make me throw my Wavebird through my window.

Alas, for the first time since ... well, since September I have absolutely nothing to play. I suppose I could finish off Pikmin 2, but that's not really ringing my bells right now. Fable? No thanks, I've had enough. I guess I could finally finish off Otogi but ... its floaty nature always makes me a bit hesitant to let it return to my Xbox. Then there's Xenosaga I guess. Okay, let me correct myself: I have absolutely nothing I want to play.

On the plus side, I did finally order Panzer Dragoon Orta. I guess that's gotta count for something.

Shifting gears to a different pipeline, hopefully we'll have our 2004 Gaming Retrospective available shortly. I've been fine-tuning an upcoming review which hopefully will get posted before a specific sort of marmot sees the light of day. There are a few other projects in the works but .. I'll keep mum on those since only a small portion of my half-baked article ideas ever go anywhere.

Oh, as a bit of a follow-up to last week's Viewtiful Joe 2 journal entry, I was weak and just had to see the ending even though I was completely ripped off by that crash. I won't go into the specifics, but I wish I hadn't. All I can say is that it's a darn good thing that us men don't need to ever talk our problems out! Thanks Blue! And crickey, I swear I spent around 12 hours playing the first Viewtiful Joe to completion (well, at least on Kids level!) - Joe 2 couldn't even crack eight hours.

Oh well. Let the winter gaming slump begin!
